Snap Notes

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Snap Notes, published by Duotech, stores details you choose to save (such as names, addresses and account numbers) and lets you copy them into other apps from a floating bubble. It works entirely on your device. There is no account, and we run no server that receives your data.

What the app stores

Everything you type into Snap Notes (profiles, labels and values) and your settings are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. Your profiles and details are encrypted with a key held in Android's secure keystore, so the file can't be read outside your device.

We do not collect, upload, sell or share any of it.

The floating bubble

When you turn on the bubble, Snap Notes uses Android's Display over other apps permission to draw it, and a foreground service with a notification to keep it on screen. The bubble only shows your own saved details. It cannot see what other apps display or what you type in them.

Your clipboard

Tapping a detail copies it to your phone's clipboard so you can paste it. Snap Notes reads the clipboard only when you tap Save copied text in the bubble, to save that text. Details you mark as hidden are flagged as sensitive when copied, so Android 13 and newer don't show them in the clipboard preview.

Permissions

  • Display over other apps: to draw the bubble. You grant it, and you can remove it at any time in your phone's settings.
  • Foreground service and notifications: to keep the bubble on screen and show its notification.
  • Run at startup: to bring the bubble back after your phone restarts, only if you had it on.
  • Biometrics: only if you turn on App lock, to check your fingerprint or your phone's PIN. Snap Notes never sees your fingerprint; Android checks it.

Snap Notes does not ask for your contacts, location, camera, microphone or files.

Advertising (free version)

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob inside the app's own screens. Ads are never shown in the bubble. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID and related data to show and measure ads, as described in Google's privacy policy. Where the law requires it (for example in the UK and EEA), you are asked for consent first and can change your choice in Settings › Ad privacy choices. Plus and Pro remove ads.

Purchases

Plus and Pro are bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we never see your card details. The app checks with Google Play on your device to confirm the purchase.

Backups

Backups are only created when you choose to make one. A backup is a file encrypted with a password you choose, and you decide where to keep it (for example Google Drive or email). We never receive it, and we can't open it or recover a lost password.

Deleting your data

Delete a detail or a whole profile at any time in the app. Uninstalling Snap Notes deletes everything stored on your phone. Backup files you saved elsewhere stay where you put them until you delete them.

Children

Snap Notes is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
